Dark ‘Night Stalker’ EP Inspires SXSW’s 1st Base Runner Showcase

Posted on 21/02/2023 By Chris Relkneus

Texas multi-instrumentalist and producer Tim Husmann has created a captivating new project entitled 1st Base Runner, an immersive mix of post punk and synth-laden sounds. Drawing on influences from shoe-gaze, nostalgic 80’s dark wave, and an array of analog synthesizers, this visionary artist crafts a sound that is uniquely his own. With its pulsing beats and hypnotic textures, 1st Base Runner will take you on a journey through uncharted sonic territory.

Excitement is in the air as post-punk trio, Husmann, unveils their new EP ‘Stay Gold’ set for April release. With the addition of two new members – enigmatic Austin-based drummer Adam Byram and bassist Kevin K. Rowe – the trio now completes the project’s vision. This latest offering promises a unique blend of synthesizer and punk rock elements. Fans of Husmann’s previous work will be delighted to hear this fresh take on post-punk music.

In just two short years, Husmann has taken the post punk scene by storm. They have released an astonishing number of EPs and music videos that have captured the hearts and minds of fans across the country. Radio stations, including Austin’s 98.9 KUTX, have been eager to feature Husmann’s unique blend of post punk and synthesizer sounds.
