Thieves Tried to Steal Archspire’s Trailer While Their Drummer Was Sleeping In It

Right now, Canadian tech-death act Archspire are out on tour with Entheos, Inferi, and Vulvodynia. But this weekend’s Houston stop gave the band a bit of a scare, as thieves rolled up in the middle of the night and attempted to steal the trailer containing their gear — with drummer Spencer Prewett still sleeping inside it.
Here’s what Archspire posted to their Facebook:
“SOMEONE TRIED TO STEAL OUR TRAILER LAST NIGHT!!!
“We had our van parked in a hotel parking lot, and two trucks rolled up and started trying to detach our trailer from our van. Luckily our drummer Spencer was sleeping in the back, he woke up and scared the shit out of them and they peeled off. We were SO CLOSE to having our entire touring rig stolen, including merch, gear, clothing, everything.
“What were trying to say, is EVERY NIGHT ON THIS TOUR COULD BE OUR LAST so if you’re on the fence about coming to a show, DON’T SLEEP ON GETTING TICKETS!!!”
That’s fucking scary! We’re just glad everyone’s okay, and that these dudes didn’t hurt Spencer when he came surging out of the trailer (and that he didn’t wake up in a warehouse somewhere after the dudes ran off with their trailer). Meanwhile, bands touring in Houston, be on the lookout.
