In A Darkened Room Unveil New Music Of Love, Loss & Memory

Posted on 23/01/2023 By Chris Relkneus

It has been a long and arduous journey for Texas-based darkwave band, In A Darkened Room, as they are about to debut their first album, Sorrows, which was born out of the countless nightly meetings held in a dimly-lit basement studio.

“We wanted to feel the beauty in this chance to create while untethered by the constraints of ‘normal’ times, but the sense of ever-present doom on our doorstep weaved a constant thread of sorrow into our music.” – CJ Duron.

Sorrows is an exploration of emotions, a journey through eight stories that feels like the end of a long road. It is a down-tempo, sensual and melodic dream-dance, infused with the melancholic beauty of grey sky cemetery drives, dawn’s heavy fog light, and a sad, sweet smile you’ll never see again. This unique blend of music evokes feelings of longing and hope all at once, creating a captivating atmosphere for listeners to experience.
