Dual Analog Merges Spirituality & Sexuality For New Album, ‘Lust, Worship & Desire’!

Posted on 06/04/2022 By Chris Relkneus

March 8, 2022 –
Seattle-based “turbowave” band, Dual Analog has just unveiled their new album, ‘Lust, Worship & Desire’.  Conceptually inspired by Buddhism, the album tells a story of the intersection of sexuality and spirituality.

The album opens with narrator being kissed for the first time. After years of living without affection, he decides feminine love was missing from his life.

The narrator devotes his entire existence towards reclaiming that affection and the feelings it gave him. After realizing he’ll never have an experience the same way as he did the first time, he learns his life was already complete before. Nothing was missing.

Only in learning to live without want are we able to achieve enlightenment. The album ends with the narrator learning to live with an appreciation of the present and learning the fleeting nature of all things.

‘Lust, Worship & Desire’ is available NOW on digital platforms including Bandcamp. Musically, Dual Analog describes their music as “turbowave”, a mixture of new wave, industrial and heavy metal.

Dual Analog Bio:

Dual Analog’s roots date back to the childhoods of singer/guitarist Chip Roberts and multi-instrumentalist Kurtis Skinner. Seattle’s extraordinarily unique TurboWave band (a genre the duo coined when there was nothing else that made quite enough sense to describe their sound) are a synthwave-meets-metal collaboration with a whole plethora of noteworthy musical undertones.

Roberts and Skinner are seasoned songwriters who officially conceived Dual Analog in 2019. They both draw inspiration from elements of darkwave, progressive metal, and adult-oriented rock. They then add their own romantic touches of new wave, industrial, and EDM. The duo’s broad range of influences create soaring, anthemic vocals backed up with catchy bass grooves and smooth hooks, all under a veneer of crushing heavy metal guitar riffs and polyrhythmic drum grooves; something the band likes to call “Moog to Marshall.”

Dual Analog’s image and live performance are a mix of high-fashion, tasteful 80s-inspired glam, infused with an early Depeche Mode vibe of sulking chaos. This unique collaboration makes the band perfect live entertainment for anything from fashion shows to big rock venues.
Not only are Dual Analog a catchy and entertaining band fit for people who simply enjoy music, they are also a “musician’s band,” so they are able to cover an incredibly wide range of genres. Their musical dimension is especially illustrative in songs like Golden Temple, with it’s sexy, poppy vibe in the likes of Duran Duran, and the heavy, brooding, Joy Division-esque Into the Unknown.
