A Stunning Symphonic Journey of Exploration with Rick Wakeman

Posted on 25/02/2023 By Chris Relkneus

For those passionate about music, there is a special place where the sounds of creativity and imagination come alive: A Gallery of the Imagination! This unique gallery stemmed from an important lesson taught by Rick’s first piano teacher, Mrs Symes. From the age of five until his time at the Royal College of Music, she instilled in him that when playing music, it was like painting pictures. Music has always been a powerful source of emotion and insight. For Rick, it has also been an incredible form of expression. Recently, he has written a vast array of new music in different styles, but wasn’t sure how to present them as part of an album. That was until he recalled the advice of his beloved teacher – to present the tracks like pictures. It was this stroke of genius that allowed Rick to create something truly remarkable and exciting.prog rock.

Music fans will be delighted to hear of the newest album from Rick, which combines classical and prog influences in an exciting way. It contains many clear prog influences, especially in the Moog solos, and it also features two solo piano numbers. These reflect Rick’s classical roots, showing influences from the Romantic period. This melding of styles creates an intriguing mix of old and new that is sure to captivate listeners and offer something completely unique. “A Gallery of the Imagination”, the latest release from Rick, is an exciting blend of music and vocals that promises to take listeners on a journey like no other. Not only does it feature twelve uncommon vocal tracks, but also incredible instrumentals that provide a strong song and melodic influence. Rick has carefully arranged each track to ensure that his distinctive descriptive music stands out and complements each vocalist’s performance.
