Despite there being no new studio recordings since 2013’s acclaimed ‘De ödeslösa’, Sweden’s Thyrfing

have remained active on the excursion circuit with appearances on the likes of Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze and Sweden Rock Festival, among many other shows.

The trap of making a new song always remained then again, and beginning back in 2015, plans have been made for what would change into Vanagandr, the band’s eighth liberate.

MORE ON THYRFING… Thyrfing emerged from the ever-growing underground scene in Sweden again in 1995. After seven full-length albums and numerous are living performances everywhere the arena, the band have received a strong following over the years and a stupendous standing inside the steel scene. They are considered one of the best bands within the so-called Viking/pagan metal genre – but then again, Thyrfing is so a lot more with their actually outstanding and self-contained musical offering. The title of the band is taken from the sword “Tyrfing” in Norse mythology – a cursed blade that looks in different stories and myths. Ever since the start, mythology has performed an enormous phase in the scenery and imagery of the band’s tune and lyrics, something which remains to be intact in 2021.
