Mulholland Overdrive: The Ragged Jubilee’s latest album
The Ragged Jubilee is a rock band from San Luis Obispo, CA, which has been making music since 2009. Their sound is influenced by blues, folk, country and psychedelic rock. They have released five studio albums so far: American Moan (2010), In The Valley (2012), Pyramids (2014) Plead The Fifth (2017) and now Mulholland Overdrive (2022).
Their fifth studio album, Mulholland Overdrive, was recorded in late 2020 with Rob Campanella, a producer and musician who has worked with The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Quarter After and The Tyde. Campanella also plays keyboards on some of the tracks.
The band met Campanella through their friend Jacob Wick, who introduced them to his studio in LA. They recorded the album in two days, mostly live, capturing the raw energy and spontaneity of their performances. They used vintage instruments and equipment to create a warm and organic sound.
Mulholland Overdrive is a collection of 10 songs that showcase the band’s versatility and maturity.
