Over 18 months after their first album, Captain Rico and the Ghost Band released a new work titled Fréquences d’ouverture (Rhythm of opening phases).

The Sequel Album to Fréquences d’outre-tombe (Rhythms from beyond the grave) with the title Fréquences d’ouverture is very different from their previous work in many ways. They are more modern, more psychedelic and use a structure that is slightly more complex than that of Long Time Ago. Many tracks are still nostalgic like A Long Time Ago or Last Will because they have a light-hearted quality that is a characteristic of many Surf Music groups. The group even alludes to the Horror Surf genre that was popular in the 1960s, while keeping their humorous touch and their love of melody.
