Milwaukee Metalfest Returns with Anthrax, Lamb of God, and More Than 30 Other Bands on the Bill

There was a time, from 1987 to 2004, when Milwaukee Metalfest remained one of the most important metal shindigs here in the United States. For years, major festivals like Ozzfest were getting massive names, but fans knew that it was the Milwaukee Metalfest that would have some of the best lineups ever, with bands like Death, Mayhem, Cancer, and King Diamond frequently in attendance.

Unfortunately, the show had to come to an end in the early 2000s, but last year Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta bought the festival’s rights and it’s coming back in a HUGE way this Memorial Day weekend at The Rave/Eagles club.

Earlier today, the full lineup was announced and holy-fucking-shit, does this look absolutely massive. Set to take place from May 26 to May 28, the festival will feature the likes of Lamb of God, Anthrax, Corrosion of Conformity, and WAY more. There are so many, we’ve got the full list down below.

Jasta said he was absolutely stoked to be able to bring the festival back.

“The infamous Milwaukee Metal Fest created so many memories, hosted legendary bands, and gave up and comers something to aspire to. Memorial Day Weekend 2023 (May 26, 27, and 28) — it returns with a stacked line up and a new lease on life. I cannot wait to see all the bands and hang with everyone in Milwaukee. I’m so grateful for [booking agent] Tim Borror and the Sound Talent Crew; and Leslie, Joe, and everyone at The Rave/Eagles for helping us put this event together. Milwaukee Metal Fest is back! See you in Wisconsin this May!”

Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 3 via eTix.com. Artists will have special presales tomorrow at 10 a.m., while other providers will have presales on their own terms. For more information, be sure to check out the venue website.
