It’s been a couple years since the world got new Testament tunes, but that’s not going to be the case forever, as guitarist Eric Peterson and newly minted drummer Chris Dovas have apparently begun hashing out ideas for the next release.
Over the weekend, Peterson posted a few pictures on his Instagram account highlighting some of the writing sessions with Dovas. Testament haven’t put out a new album since 2020’s Titans of Creation, so the band’s continued work towards something new has to be exciting for fans.
“Hope everyone is having a great Friday! Had a very productive week with the kid! Mr. @chrisdovas and I worked up new 7 jam ideas ranging from thrash to nwobhm mixed in w/ black thrash to dark heavy hard rock blues…let’s see what happens! super stoked so far! #rolanddrums #toontracksuperiordrummer #deanguitars #evhgear #gibsonguitars #metalheads #thrashers #americancarnage”
Dovas posted the same images, which really is just lazy — get your own, kid! But all kidding aside, the drummer commented on his time with Peterson as well, stating the two had worked all week and that he was “stoked so far.”
To say this thrash metal fan isn’t excited at the prospect of new Testament music would be a huge lie. They’re a killer band and I know I personally can’t wait to see what they’ve got brewing.
Maybe they’ll break some new stuff out at the first-ever Metal Injection Festival this September! They’re going to be tearing shit up at the end of a two-day festival in the Los Angeles area and by all accounts, it’s going to be a hell of a time. Tickets are available today, so be sure to get yours now!
