Over the last couple years, as the air gets colder and Halloween creeps ever closer, Avenged Sevenfold have done their part by taking on the personas of the classic punk icons, The Misfits. But it’s not just some dress up — guitarist Zacky Vengeance, bassist Johnny Christ and drummer Brooks Wackerman take up their instruments and perform a Misfits classic.
Two years ago they released their “Hybrid Moments” cover, then last year they dropped “Last Caress.” This year, they continued the tradition by releasing their cover of “Astro Zombies,” which takes its title from the 1968 movie The Astro-Zombies.
Today’s cover was uploaded to the band’s official YouTube page with the following message:
“It’s that time of year where Zacky, Johnny and Brooks transform into fiends to bring you a new take on a classic MISFITS song. Enjoy?”
Avenged Sevenfold have been running on the weird side of things lately, with their latest album Life Is But A Dream… being one of their most out there releases to date, especially thanks to weird music videos like the one for “Mattel.”
So definitely check out the cover below and let us know in the comments which song you think they should do and why it should be “Where Eagles Dare.”
