When it dropped last year, Ozzy Osbourne‘s most recent album Patient Number 9 basically included a who’s-who of legendary artists that contributed to various songs. From old bandmates like Tony Iommi and Zakk Wylde to Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and the late Jeff Beck, some huge names were included in the record.
Well, it turns out during a recent interview with tat in a recent meeting with Brent Porche of Philadelphia’s 93.3 WMMR radio station, the “Prince of Darkness” confirmed that he’s going to be heading into the “studio next year to start work on a new album.
“Being laid up for about five years because of the surgery thing and the fall I had, I was going nuts. So I met Andrew Watt and we did a couple of albums together. And I’m waiting for him to get free to d”o another album. ‘Cause everybody wants to use him now.”
Unlike last year’s LP, Ozzy told Porsche that initial plans don’t include the bevvy of guests as he had on Patient Number 9. Rather than include big names on nearly every track this go around, Ozzy said he’s looking instead to have “maybe one”
As for the songwriting process, Ozzy said he’d ideally be able to get everything written before heading into the studio, but that’s just not been the case lately.
“Personally, I like to get stuff [worked out] before I go in the studio. But the last couple of albums I had to do differently. A lot of it was done as we went along.”
