Evoking both the lush landscapes of their San Francisco Bay Area home and the ethereal depths of the human soul, TREASVRE delivers intimate, raw emotion.
Their latest single, “In My Arms,” grapples with the highs and lows of romantic infatuation, capturing everything from the manic thrills of desire to the desperate lows of disappointment and demolished expectations. Driving guitar leads, synths, and soaring vocal melodies pull from the band’s wide variety of influences, combining them in a way that’s both compelling and hard to categorize, yet their sound is influenced by post-rock, shoegaze, and electronic music.
At the heart of TREASVRE are the hauntingly beautiful vocal harmonies of Sabrina Simonton and Samantha Peña, which dwell in the same energy sphere as Lush, All About Eve, Elastica, Garbage, and The Breeders…with a decidedly modern bend. Simonton and Peña weave together intricate, dreamlike melodies that speak to the heart of human experience, touching on themes of longing, nostalgia, and hopefulness. But their voices are just the beginning of the story.
From the initial note, one is consumed by the pulsing rhythm of the percussive beat and entranced by the seductive guitar riffs. It’s as if the music itself mirrors the heady rush of meeting a new flame. As the melody unfolds, however, the emotions become more convoluted, and the cracks in the veneer of romantic expectation begin to show. Amid a shimmering ocean of synthesizers and glittering strings, the lyrics crest in a cathartic chant: “In my arms… there’s no harm.” It’s a fervent plea more than a statement of hard fact, as the ecstasy of attraction often blinds us to the harsh realities of our object of affection…when refuge becomes refuse.
“In My Arms” is inspired by that spark of attraction that immediately blasts off into a full-blown infatuation,” says the band. “The song encapsulates the tumultuous journey when we discover someone is not as perfect as we wanted them to be; in fact they are flawed and broken just like everyone else. To really love them, we must accept them as they are, and no longer indulge in the fantasy of infatuation. It’s a wild ride.”

The origins of TREASVRE are steeped in the spirit of experimentation and creative exploration. Founding members Julian Balestrieri and Jason Zaru, seeking an outlet for their musical wanderlust, embarked on a side project that would allow them to stretch beyond the confines of their alternative endeavors. With a wealth of original material already in tow, they enlisted drummer Evan Dulaney to add depth and dimension to the evolving sound. As a tight-knit trio, they pushed the boundaries of their sonic palette until a chance connection brought Sabrina into the fold, adding her unique blend of synth textures and mesmerizing vocals to the mix. Finally, the group reached completion with the arrival of Sam on bass and vocals, a piece of the puzzle that solidified the band’s vision and paved the way for their electrifying sound to take flight.
The band’s earlier offering, “Devils,” from the Devils/Echoes EP, grapples with themes that resonate acutely in our era of disconnectedness. The band plumbs the depths of solitary suffering and the tyranny of self-doubt, exploring the delicate balance between escape and self-obliteration. With evocative and haunting lyrical flourishes, Treasvre deftly navigates the thorny terrain of these complex emotions, all while backed by a fierce and unyielding musical landscape of driving guitars, sizzling synths, and infectious rhythms.
“Run Away” showcases the band’s deft command of electronic influences, imbuing the track with a pulse-pounding energy that evokes the tension and urgency of a John Carpenter chase scene. Lyrically, the song deals with the perils of trusting the wrong people, urging listeners to be vigilant against those who would exploit their good intentions for their own gain. Against a backdrop of chugging guitars and soaring synths, the band unleashes a wave of emotion . To further enhance the impact of the track, the band enlisted the creative vision of filmmaker Michael Beltrán, resulting in this spellbinding experimental music video that brings the song’s themes to life in vivid detail.
TREASVRE will be going on a rare and brief west coast tour before recording their next release with producers, Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly, Delirium, Machine Head) & Mike Plotnikoff (My Chemical Romance, In Flames, Theory of a Deadman).
