Watch: Korn Sing Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way”

Posted on 01/05/2022 By

In the late ’90s and the early 2000s, Korn were the ultimate alternative to boy bands. The Bakersfield weirdos were at the front lines of the culture wars, and stood against everything that five quickly-assembled dudes singing bubblegum songs about dating cheerleaders represented. But just as some of those boy band members probably loved nu-metal, so too could Korn not escape the megahits of their time, as made evident by this video of the band singing Backstreet Boys‘ classic ballad “I Want It That Way.”

The performance comes from a Tiktok that Korn posted from behind the scenes on their new video “Worst Is On Its Way.” Basically, the Korn dudes are all in white outfits reminiscent of those worn by Backstreet Boys on the cover of their album Millennium, the sight of which to old dudes like me immediately evokes a sense of disgust and fury. It’s obvious the guys are having a good time with it, though, and Jonathan Davis even blatantly reads the lyrics off of his phone, proving he was never truly a Backstreet Boys fan.
