Tomorrow was supposed to be an exciting day for Spiritbox fans who ordered the vinyl version of the band’s new EP, The Fear of Fear. Originally slated to make its way to homes in time for the EP’s November 3 release, it turns out that just won’t be the case.
According to a post on the band’s Instagram stories, an issue with the manufacturer has forced an unexpected delay on the vinyl release.
“Today we were informed that the manufacturer has not shipped The Fear of Fear vinyl to our warehouse in time for release week. This is very frustrating to say the least, this affects our first week sales figure and our commitment to our fans to deliver on time. As soon as we receive shipping information we will let you know. We encourage you to listen on streaming platforms from start to finish on Nov 3rd. Thanks for your patience.”
For anyone that’s been following the vinyl space in recent years, a delay isn’t exactly surprising. On average, there’s a months-long turnaround for vinyl pressings. Though we don’t know the specifics behind this delay from a business perspective, it’s still a disappointing situation for anyone looking to get their vinyl copy.
As of now, there’s no news as to when the vinyl pressing of The Fear of Fear will finally be delivered. In the meantime, the band is asking that fans stream the EP on whichever digital platform they prefer.
