Earlier today, the gut-busting TexMex fast food conglomerate Taco Bell posted a seven minute set by the California-based hardcore punk band Scowl. And while that’s far too fast of a set to really get into the swing of things with their music, it’s certainly not faster than the amount of time it’ll take for diarrhea to set in after eating literally anything off Taco Bell’s menu.
Filmed as part of the fast food chain’s Feed the Beat program, the set was full of energy and showcased the band running on all cylinders. Which means they absolutely didn’t gorge themselves on chalupas or burritos prior to hitting the stage.
This isn’t the first time a popular band has been tapped by Taco Bell for its music program. Turnstile was chosen as part of the Feed the Beat Program’s Class of 2015. As such, their music was used in commercials. In fact, other bands like Rivers of Nihil, Wolfheart, Inferi, and more have also been highlighted in the program.
We’re not sure if we’ll ever see Scowl’s music in a music video for some horrific amalgamation of meat, cheese, and tortillas, but we sure know they apparently have a penchant for fast food performances. And while they’re unlikely to take up residence in a Wendy’s drive thru at the moment, they’re currently on tour with Circle Jerks, with additional dates planned next month and running until late October.
