“I’m waiting for something.”
In contemplating the vectors of one’s true passion, we are often compelled to inquire our motives and endgame. What is the grand ambition, and is it fulfilling? How fervent is my desire to realize these dreams? What tribulations am I willing to endure… and for what cause do I deem this suffering worthy?
Embracing fear as a catalyst for personal growth transforms it from a paralyzing obstacle into a potent motivator. This perspective challenges individuals to confront their limitations and push boundaries, turning fear into a driver, for change. It leads to significant breakthroughs, fostering resilience and promoting continuous self-improvement.
Ceremony Shadows, an experimental darkwave project from Portland led by Timo, sets this introspective narrative to Impetus, a hypnotic dance track, featuring vocalists Anastasia and Jakub. The band’s sound is a unique fusion, shaped by the varied backgrounds of its members hailing from the USA, Germany, and Poland, and their deep-rooted experiences in alternative music scenes and cultures. Their live performances are unique experiences across sound, light, and space, channeling Fever Ray, Spike Hellis, Pixel Grip, and Depeche Mode.
“While creating this track, we all pushed our creative boundaries to write a song that reflects our desire to grow as artists and people,” says the band. “This song encourages the listener to reflect inward. We hope to inspire ourselves and others to stop hiding. Stop waiting. Take one small step toward your goals, then another, and another. The time is NOW. Stop hiding your gifts. The world needs your passion.”
