Earlier today, it was announced that the former Megadeth guitarist was downsizing his guitar and gear collection by selling a wide range of his shit from his time with the extremely influential thrash metal outfit. We were pretty sure Kiko Loureiro‘s time with Megadeth was finished, but this latest news sort of nails that reality down, doesn’t it?
According to the announcement, fans can get a sneak peek at some of the things the Brazilian shredder will be putting up on sale through the online used gear retailer Reverb from now until next Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Some of the items that will be on sale are the following:
- A surprise Gibson Les Paul Modern that Kiko played on two songs every night during the 2022 Megadeth tour.
- A few acoustic guitars, including a Godin Multiac ACS SA Grand Concert used on tour all over the world in 2023, a Godin Arena Pro CW, and an Ibanez GA6CE-AM used on tours in 2019, ’21, and ’22 as well as backstage and in hotel rooms for practice.
- A couple of well-used Kramer models, like an SM-1 and Custom.
- A super portable DV Mark Neoclassic 1×12 guitar speaker cab, and DV Mark Multiamp from the Megadeth jam and rehearsal room.
- Several Neural DSP Quad Cortex units that have been main pieces of Kiko’s touring rig since 2022.
- Some non-gear extras, like Kiko’s sweatbands, a few shirts, and even a Gracie Barra Brazilian jiu-jitsu gi.
If you’ve got the cash, you can get your hands on some authentic shit that’s either been played in-studio, on-stage, or has generally been covered in Loureiro’s sweat. If that’s your thing.
