One-man progressive/melodic black metal act Shylmagoghnar is back this Friday with the impending release of his third record, Convergence and its mastermind Nimblkorg has released a video for “Infinion” to give us a taste.
Set for release via Napalm Records, we’ve already heard the singles “Follow The River” and “The Sea” (some definite nautical themes going on), and this will be his last build-up drop before the grand finale.
Speaking of the impending album release and of “Infinion,” Nimblkorg expressed his excitement for what’s on the horizon.
“For those who make it beyond the veil awaits ‘Infinion’. The crossroads of all that is and all that will never be. Weary traveler, welcome back.
“Only three more days until the full release of Convergence! Let’s celebrate with a third and final music video release: ‘Infinion’. This is the first full music video that I’ve made by myself. Enjoy the trip.
“I also wish to thank you all again for the beautiful response that the first singles of the album have already been receiving, and for sharing your own experiences with these themes. This album is extremely personal to me, and I feel honored to have you all partake in this journey.
“Warm regards, Nim”
The album is intended as the final installment of a trilogy, following the 2014 album Emergence and the 2018 album Transience. This record follows the inward journey of death and dying as an allegory for letting go and moving on, and if the powerful black metal below moves you, be sure to check out the full release this week.
‘Convergence’ Track List:
- I Hear the Mountain Weep
- Follow the River
- Gardens of the Erased
- The Sea
