Scalpers Had a Field Day as That Korn/Adidas Tracksuit and Sneaker Collab Already Sold Out

Sure hope you didn’t want to get in on some of that sweet, sweet Korn 90s and early 2000s nostalgia in the form of really expensive sportswear, because that ship has sailed. As in everything that was part of the Korn/Adidas collaboration predictably sold out insanely fast.

News of the collaboration and the limited run of items was officially announced last week — though we’d pretty much known about it for months — and today was the line’s release date. And while initial reports placed the asking price for each pair of pants, each track suit jacket, each pair of shoes and each t-shirt or hoodie as being way too expensive for what was on offer, the actual price that landed today was still higher than expected.

If you wanted the full purple sequined tracksuit, as in the same one Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis wore during the band’s Sick New World set last year, then it would have set you back $300 ($200 for the jacket and $100 for the pants). The plain black track suit, conversely, cost a total of $180, with the jacket carrying a $100 price tag and the pants coming in at $80. Depending on which pair of shoes you wanted, you either were shelling out $140 for the white Supermodified shoes or $130 for the black Campus 00s shoes. Finally, the shirts ranged from $50 to $60, while the hoodie inexplicably clocked in at $120.

The price of Adidas branded Korn merch was too damn high, yet a buncha crazy motherfuckers paid for it. Whether or not actual fans of the band were able to purchase their clothes is another thing entirely, as the shoes and clothing market is lousy with scalpers. In fact, a quick search on Ebay already shows some of the shoes selling for nearly double the suggested price in some cases.

So there ya have it. The clothing line that was 25 years too late is now experiencing the most 2020s thing ever, as people who actually wanted that shit likely didn’t get their hands on it because other people wanting to make a buck snatched that shit up faster. That’s capitalism, baybee!
