Public Image Ltd. (PiL) has announced the release of their 11th studio album, End of World, set to drop on August 11th. The news of this highly anticipated album follows less than a week after the tragic passing of frontman John Lydon’s wife, Nora Forster. The 13-track collection begins with the newly unveiled single, “Penge,” and closes with the heartfelt “Hawaii,” a song Lydon penned for his wife as she battled Alzheimer’s disease.
In addition to the album, PiL is gearing up for an extensive 38-date tour across the U.K. and Europe, commencing with back-to-back shows in Greece on September 8th. The tour will continue with a U.K. leg throughout September before moving on to European venues all through October.
Pre-sale tickets for the upcoming tour will be available to PiL mailing list subscribers from 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday, April 12th, while the general on-sale follows at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 14th.
End of World marks the third album from PiL since their 2009 reunion, with the lineup featuring drummer Bruce Smith, guitarist Lu Edmonds, and bassist Scott Firth.
