A new slab of death metal is hurtling straight out of the U.K. and headed for your dome this April, as Ingested announced earlier today that their eighth full-length album The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams will be released on April 5 via Metal Blade Records. And to celebrate the occasion, the band released the album’s first single and accompanying video, “Paragon of Purity.”
According to a statement provided by the band, this new record features another tonal shift, as it’s their first new release since COVID fucked everything up.
“Ashes… was constructed in the COVID period, and the mood of that album definitely reflects that time. With The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams, we wanted to bring the energy up a bit. As much as we like what we did with Ashes…, its depressive tone isn’t something we wanted to continue to explore quite as much. There are definitely some dark moments on …Tide…, but for the most part, we took a more upbeat approach to the songs this time round.”
As for the introductory single, “Paragon of Purity,” the track is heavy and unrelenting. I dare you to listen to this track and not immediately imagine the chaos in the pit this thing will cause. Holy shit.
