If You Don’t Have These Two Tomahawk Albums on Vinyl, You Owe It to Yourself to Pick These Reissues Up

When it comes to Mike Patton projects, one that deserves a helluva lot more praise and recognition than it currently gets is the indomitable Tomahawk. Also featuring the killer bass of Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Melvins, etc), the tell-tale twangy guitar playing of Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard), and the frenetic bombast of John Stanier’s (Helmet, The Mark of Cain, Battles) drum playing, this band absolutely kills.

That’s why when Ipecac Recordings announced they were re-releasing special edition vinyl pressings of the band’s self-titled debut and the 2013 release Oddfellows, it just had to be shared here. Both of those records stand up on their own and showcase just how wild Tomahawk can be. The former is a weird, at times southern-fried, at other times entirely avant garde ride, while the latter is just… odd in the best way possible.

In their announcement, Ipecac Recordings said these two reissues will come out on March 31, with both having access to special color variants available.

We’re continuing to dig through our archives and have some very cool reissues coming this year. We’re starting it off with two records from TOMAHAWK coming March 31st! Pre-order now at https://ipecac.lnk.to/Tomahawk

It’s the first time the self-titled debut has been available individually outside of the limited 2012 Record Store Day box set, and it’s been remastered for this reissue. We’re also celebrating the 10th Anniversary of ODDFELLOWS with new color variants!

TOMAHAWK
Standard Black
Indie Exclusive Brown (limited to 2500)
Revolver Exclusive Fools Gold (limited to 500)
Ipecac Exclusive Smoke Mix (limited to 2000)

ODDFELLOWS
Standard Black
Indie Exclusive Purple (limited to 2000)
Revolver Exclusive Fools Gold (limited to 500)
Ipecac Exclusive Radioactive (limited to 1500)

Don’t worry, we’ve got Mit Gas and Anonymous in the works for later this year. And the band’s most recent album, Tonic Immobility, is available everywhere now.

If ever you buy something because my dumb ass told you to, it should absolutely be this. “God Hates a Coward” is an absolute banger and “White Hates/Black Hats” kills. You can preorder your copies via Ipecac Recordings today.
