Greg Mackintosh, of Paradise Lost and Host, Remembers His Worst Gig Ever

Being a rock star isn’t all killer performances and the high of kicking ass on stage. Sometimes, you lay an egg up there, whether it’s your fault or not. Take this particular story from Paradise Lost’s Greg Mackintosh, who recounts a particularly rough show in Detroit back in the early ’90s.

During Paradise Lost’s tour with Morbid Angel and Kreator, the guitarist said things had already been going poorly before things came to a head in Detroit. Rather than give up the entire story right away, we’re all we’ll say is a leaky roof and an antagonistic audience that had zero patience for the band’s slower play style.

So check out the video below and at least appreciate that you haven’t ever been in a position like the one Mackintosh shares.

You can check out Host’s new album IX later this month when it comes out on February 24, though it’s available for preorder today via Nuclear Blast.
