Acid King Drop New Album and Announce Tour

Posted on 26/03/2023 By
Acid King

Doom legends Acid King just dropped their new album Beyond Vision, out now on Blues Funeral Recordings. They also announced they’ll be touring on the record this summer.

After a long hiatus, Acid King are back with a record that’s a bit different from their previous, straightforward desert-rock doom. It still has elements of that for sure, but Beyond Vision is much more psychedelic and introspective, even bordering on being a concept album.

On the album’s concept, vocalist and guitarist Lori S. explains:

“The band was never really that psychedelic, but this is definitely more trippy because we’ve got keyboards and synthesizers. That’s something we’ve never had before on Acid King records. The songs really have no beginning or end—They all just flow into each other. It’s meant to be listened to as one piece. The whole point was to have the listener feel like they’re on a journey. If you put headphones on, it’ll take you to whatever places you’d like to go to.”

The album is the result of a special collaboration between Lori S., Black Cobra guitarist/vocalist Jason Landrian (Black Cobra), bassist and keyboardist Bryce Shelton (Hawkwind), and drummer Jason Willer (Charger, Jello Biafra).
