Whether you’re a vinyl collector or get insanely nostalgic for early 2000s New Wave of American Heavy Metal fan, you’re going to want to get your wallets and alarms ready. On October 20, God Forbid’s insanely badass album IV: Constitution of Treason is getting a proper release on vinyl and the variants look fucking sick as hell.
Long considered one of the coolest bands to come out of the Garden State (at least in my book), God Forbid have seen a bit of a resurgence in recent months, having played a handful of sold out reunion shows here and there. They originally disbanded in 2013 and since then guitarist Doc Coyle has made a bigger name for himself in Bad Wolves and as a fill-in for Ice Nine Kills during their Metallica gigs, among other things.
Speaking about this new vinyl reissue, Coyle said he and his bandmates were excited to reintroduce what many believe to be the best God Forbid record to date.
“We are very proud to announce the release of God Forbid’s IV: Constitution of Treason on vinyl. Although there was a small picture disc pressing released almost 20 years ago, the fan’s demand for vinyl is so much more passionate now. Many consider Constitution the best God Forbid album, and I couldn’t be happier to give everyone a chance to re-experience this classic album in the best way possible.”
fdFor those that don’t know, IV: Constitution of Treason is a concept album that explores a post-apocalyptic society in which government and social norms lead only to more destruction. Yet after working to build things back up to a reasonable level, shit hits the fan yet again, bringing everything back down in the process. It’s dark, it’s heavy, and it fucking rips.
So yeah. The reissue will take place on October 20 with only 700 retail copies of the Ashes of Liberty splatter and just 300 copies of the insanely sick “Dead, White, and Blue” variant. Preorders are available right now.
