Aussie metal outfit Parkway Drive are making their way back stateside and they’re bringing a posse of bands from down under with ’em as part of the Monsters of Oz Tour.
From September 10 down in Atlanta, Georgia until October 7 in Sacramento, California, Parkway Drive, Northlane, The Amity Affliction, and Make Them Suffer will play numerous local venues and some summer festivals.
Parkway Drive will be celebrating their 20th anniversary on this tour, having been actively recording music and touring since 2003. Parkway Drive vocalist Winston McCall said this particular run of dates will be extremely special for the band as a whole.
“20 years is a milestone in any career. The journey that has lead us to this moment has been insane, to say the least. We wanted to mark this time with a tour that represents who we are and where we come from.
“For the first time on North American soil, we are bringing the fully-formed version of the Parkway Drive live experience, and if that wasn’t enough, we’re bringing an all-Australian lineup with us. No compromise, no surrender. This is who we are — The Monsters Of Oz. Come celebrate with us and burn it all away.”
In conjunction with the 20th anniversary celebrations, Parkway Drive will be dropping Don’t Close Your Eyes on vinyl for the first time. Featuring the debut album’s original eight tracks, this vinyl release will be expanded with bonus tracks from both their split album with I Killed The Prom Queen and compilation albums What We’ve Built and True Til Death, Volume 1. The vinyl re-release will be available on August 18, though you can pre-order your copy today.
As for the newly announced tour, tickets won’t go on sale until this Friday, April 21 at 10 a.m. local time.
