Thanks to Limp Bizkit’s Wes Borland, Even You Can Learn How to Administer Naloxone

Too many people die to drug overdoses. That’s a fact. Anyone can help increase an overdosing individual’s chances for survival if they have access to naloxone and know how to use it. That’s another fact. So to help combat the epidemic of drug overdoses around the world, non-profit organization End Overdose has teamed up with the nightmare realm version of Limp Bizkit‘s Wes Borland to increase awareness and teach even the dimmest person how to save a life with naloxone.
In just a 71 second video posted on the organization’s Twitter account, Borland manages to be both informative and slightly off-putting (gah, those painted on eyes fuck me up…) while explaining how to best use a combination of naloxone and rescue breathing to keep someone alive long enough for paramedics to arrive.
Even though Borland has now become my new sleep paralysis demon, it’s great to see someone with his platform help show how easy it is to obtain and use the overdose-reversing drug. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, “nearly 108,000 persons in the U.S. died from drug-involved overdose in 2022” from the use of illicit or prescription drugs, with each year showing increases since 2018.
If you’d like to learn more about how you can get your hands on some naloxone and hopefully never have to use it, visit the End Overdose website to get involved.
