Suicidal Tendencies to Replace Ice Nine Kills for Rescheduled Metallica Show

Due to James Hetfield catching COVID and forcing Metallica to reschedule their second night in Glendale, Arizona, the band announced earlier that Ice Nine Kills will no longer be part of the bill for that show. Originally set to open alongside Five Finger Death Punch, the Boston-based band will be replaced with some west coast groove, as Suicidal Tendencies have been tapped to take their place.
The news was announced on Metallica’s official Instagram and other social media, where they stated that not only will original tickets for the September 3 show be honored for the rescheduled date, but that if people couldn’t make it out that day, they could seek refunds until Thursday, September 7 at 9 p.m. local time.
“We’re excited to announce that our friends in Suicidal Tendencies will be making the trip out to Arizona to fill in for Ice Nine Kills, starting the show alongside Five Finger Death Punch.”
During the band’s September 1 show, Hetfield was audibly struggling to sing for most of the night, dealing what we now know was the symptoms of COVID. There’s no news as to whether anyone else in the band caught it, but at the moment things look okay. We’re hoping James gets over this soon, since they’re only four days away from the makeup date.
As for the ongoing M72 Tour, their next stop isn’t scheduled until November 3, though they’ll take a pit stop for the Power Trip Festival in October. You can check out the full list of dates and grab yourself a ticket at the long list of shows below.
