Nikki Sixx Will Guest on Dolly Parton’s Rock Album

Having just been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, country legend Dolly Parton’s decided she’s going to fit the part and put out a rock record titled Rock Star later this year. And it’s cool because it sounds like she’s pulling some big names from our neck of the woods in for guest spots, including the Metal God himself Rob Halford (who may or may not have fanboyed out when they met briefly).

Yet it turns out in between his war of words with Carmine Appice, Mötley Crüe‘s Nikki Sixx revealed via Twitter that he was also guesting on Parton’s rock record, stating that he played bass on one of the songs for the record earlier this week.

Parton recently revealed during an episode of The View that the other gusts on her rock record will include: The Beatles’ Paul McCartney, Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, John Fogerty, Pink, Brandi Carlisle, Cher, and former Journey vocalist Steve Perry. Some tracks she’s going to have on Rock Star will include Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway To Heaven,” The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird,” Prince’s “Purple Rain,” and Journey’s “Open Arms.”

Sixx and the rest of the Crue have been busy lately, having just finished a leg of their world tour and now gearing up for the next batch of dates in Europe this May. If you’re interested in catching them live at one of the dates below.
