Korn’s Brian “Head” Welch Gets All MTV Cribs for a Furniture Store Commercial

It’s hard out there for a small business these days and one of the biggest sticking points tends to be promoting your brand. It can be expensive and at the end of the day, it might not even work out. But if you’re the owner of a furniture shop in Bakersfield, California and you need a face to promote your business, the decision is pretty easy — you get one of the guys from Korn. And that’s just what he did.
Earlier this week, Furniture City’s Bakersfield location posted a special tour of their store on Instagram, hosted by none other than Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch. Standing amid some nice (and often gaudy) items, it’s funny to see the Hawaiian t-shirt wearing, white guy dreadlocks-having, heavily tattooed musician gushing over various pieces of furniture.
As he makes his way through the store, he exclaims how awesome they are. He calls a massive bed with an overhang “built for a king” before hopping on it with his damn shoes on. He also marvels at a ridiculously large chandelier and a living room sofa. He even unexpectedly gives the store a new tagline:
“This reminds me of Vegas, but the thing I like about Furniture City is Vegas will break the bank — Furniture City will not.”
That’s advertising gold.
Throughout the whole video, I was waiting for him to hop onto a piece of furniture and explain that “this is where the magic happens.” Or maybe joke about how if you got a certain wardrobe that you’d “Got the Life.” Maybe a big ol’ ottoman on sale would mean that Life is Peachy…
