I don’t know about you, but I’m still reeling from the story earlier this week regarding Dying Wish vocalist Emma Boster and the glass shower door that was clearly out to get her. So when I saw in my inbox that they’d released a new single titled “Lost In The Fall,” it instantly got me wondering — was the door a crisis actor? Is this all a marketing ploy? TELL US, DYING WISH! IT’S ALL TOO COINCIDENTAL!
Nahh, I’m just fuckin’ around. Freak accidents happen but what’s not a freak accident is the band’s latest single off the band’s upcoming album Symptoms of Survival, set for release on November 3.
Unlike the previous single we highlighted, “Watch My Promise Die,” this one takes some time to breathe. Moving from chuggy heavy riffs to face contorting breakdowns to soaring, emotional vocals, this track features a lot of the band’s facets.
Speaking about the track, Boster said it’s rooted in the sad reality of friendships coming apart at the seams.
“‘Lost in the Fall’ is written about the natural untangling of a friendship or a relationship with someone over time. It’s about letting go of control and accepting your fate and failure in love. Imagine the feeling in your throat and gut when you know things are coming to an end. Surrender to that feeling and face the direction of moving on.”
Symptoms Of Survival will be available on November 3 via SharpTone Records, but you can pre-ordered today. They’re also slated to go on tour with Boundaries, Omerta, Foreign Hands, Gates To Hell, Roman Candle, and Excide starting in October. The full list of dates can be found below.
