Boris and Melvins Will Each Play Classic Albums in Full on the ‘Twins of Evil Tour’

In what promises to be a wild show, the Japanese trio known as Boris will be hitting the road with the “Los Angeles-by-way-of-Washington” oddfellows Melvins for what they’re calling the “Twins of Evil Tour.” For seven weeks, the two bands will traipse across the U.S. with plans set for each act to play one of their more iconic albums in full.

While still celebrating their 40th anniversary, the Melvins will play Bullhead in full at each show, while Boris will take their turn playing the entirety of Heavy Rocks. Along with Bullhead, Buzz Osbourne said the band’s excited they’ll get to tour with Boris and play a whole slew of tunes from their four decades as a band.

“40 years as the Melvins!!! What better way to celebrate that unlikely milestone than by setting off on the ‘Twins of Evil Tour’ with our friends, Boris. This will be a stone groove!”

Likewise, Boris’ Takeshi said they were happy to play with the Melvins, especially given the fact that they have a direct link to them and Bullhead.

“Could anyone have predicted such an astonishing event, that Boris and the Melvins would tour the entire USA together? Since the mid-1980s, the Melvins have had an enormous influence on artists of all genres not only limited to heavy music, and have brought forth a surge of faithful followers over the years. Needless to say, Boris is just one of these many bands influenced by the mighty Melvins, and we took our name from a song title off of the 1991 album, Bullhead.”

Tickets for the tour will go on sale Friday, June 9 at 10 a.m. local time.
