Watch Mick Gordon Rip and Tear Through “The Super Gore Nest” from Doom Eternal

If there ever was an award for the most metal video game soundtrack of all time, the work of Mick Gordon and both Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal would be right up at the top of the list. If you haven’t heard either soundtrack, you NEED to hear it. It’s heavy, it’s crunchy, it’d djent-y as all hell and in the latter game’s soundtrack, you have a metal fucking choir full of vocalists screaming their god damned heads off for Satan.

Sadly, Gordon’s working relationship with Doom publisher Bethesda and developer ID Software has gone sour since the release of Doom Eternal, but that doesn’t mean he can’t lay down a killer riff or two from those soundtracks. Just yesterday, the insanely metal composer posted a video of himself playing a portion of “The Super Gore Nest” on guitar, albeit at a faster pace. It’s a frenetic piece of riffage that’s gotta be seen and heard in the tweet below.

So yeah, it’s pretty cool to see the dude is still out there rocking out to Doom. Which is wild since the last game he worked on, Atomic Heart, is pretty damn cool and he donated his fee to the Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
