Video for MASTER BOOT RECORD Single “RAM” Will Take You Back to Your DOS Days

That headline’s referring to a time back in the 90s in which old farts like myself spent time fucking around testing our memory and defragging hard drives on old Windows 3.1 and DOS machines. You know, like cool kids did back then…
For the uninitiated, MASTER BOOT RECORD (or MBR) is an electronic metal act not unlike Perturbator, Gunship, or Carpenter Brut. However, instead of using flashy art and super sexy cyberpunk babes on their album covers, MBR goes the no bullshit route of floppy disks and Pentium hardware. It’s hard music made for the technically savvy/chronically tinkering nerds like myself, while still catering to the more open-minded slice of the metal audience.
MBR mastermind and multi-instrumentalist Vittorio D’Amore (aka. Vincent Love) explained the aforementioned track, which you can check out below.
“‘RAM’ is powerful anthem merging the raw intensity of classic heavy metal with the shimmering allure of retro-futuristic synths creating a sound that is both nostalgic and groundbreaking with epic solos featuring lead synths and guitars playing at unison.”
MBR’s forthcoming album HARDWAREZ is the follow up to 2022’s Personal Computer and 2020’s Floppy Disk Overdrive. Fans of the artist will likely already have heard the album, since it was composed live on YouTube by programming everything via MIDI.
“The concept of HARDWAREZ is by default the continuation of the concept of previous albums, which is about spreading the word about retro hardware and software.”
HARDWAREZ will be released on October 11 via Metal Blade Records, but you can preorder your copy today. If you’d like to catch MBR live, you can check out the list of dates below.
