For the past six years now, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has been involved with the last project that you’d expect him to be a part of. No, I’m not talking about the project he did with the dude from Alter Bridge. No, I’m not talking about the time he covered the theme song to Angry Birds Space. No, I’m not talking about his contribution to the Barbie movie soundtrack. Come to think of it, maybe I should stop being surprised by any project that Slash is willing to take part in, because he does a lot of random crap.
But, according to Blabbermouth, for the past six years, Slash has been composing the soundtracks for Halloween Horror Nights “Universal Monsters” haunted houses at Universal Studios Hollywood every Halloween. So if you’ve ever been to that particular attraction, yep, that music was all Slash. And now he’s released his compositions on a limited-edition 11-track vinyl album called Music Of Universal Studios Hollywood – Halloween Horror Nights. It was released yesterday and is on sale exclusively onsite at Universal Studio Hollywood until November 3. There’s also 300 alternate color vinyl that will be hand-signed by Slash himself that will be available until they sell out.
In a statement, Slash said:
“As a longtime fan of horror movies and of Halloween Horror Nights, I jumped at the chance to once again collaborate with Universal Studios Hollywood to produce a soundtrack for the ‘Universal Monsters’ haunted house. Similar to the way music affects a film, I composed this score for the legions of infamous characters in these haunted houses to elicit a sense of emotional terror.”
So if you happen to find yourself in the Hollywood area this Halloween season and you really want to hear the music that Slash composed for a haunted house, then stop by and pick yourself up a copy.
