With a new album titled Swarming Angels & Flies on the way and having previously impressed yours truly, Swedish death metal outfit Sarcator are active as hell. Earlier today, the band released a single off their new album titled “Comet of End Times” and boy, does it kick ass.
Still considered neophytes in the death metal world, Sarcator’s got a lot to prove. Yet if they keep putting out killer tracks like the one we have here today and they’ll be recognized by their peers in to time. AS you’ll hear as soon as you hit play below.
For those that don’t know, the band is fronted by Mateo Tervonen, son of The Crown’s rhythm guitarist Marko Tervonen, so there’s a solid pedigree within the band’s ranks.
Speaking of Tervonen, he said the new song is indicative of the band’s overarching sound.
“’Comet of End Times’ is where the dynamics we like to work with become the most present, especially within a song itself. It throws you around between different soundscapes, shifting from total death metal worship to Sabbath-grooves while maintaining a unique flow to it that ties everything together and makes it work very well. A strong pillar of the album.”
Swarming Angels & Flies will be released on January 17, 2025 via Century Media Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
