Neon Nightmare’s “She’s Drowning” Sounds Like Type O Negative in 2024, Debut Album Coming November

Losing the legendary Peter Steele was a blow that many of us at MetalSucks still find hard to get over from time to time. The music of Type O Negative is still in heavy rotation, so when I heard the opening bars of Neon Nightmare’s single “She’s Drowning,” with its fuzzy and distorted bass intro followed by swelling synths, I instantly felt a sense of familiarity.
Then when I realized they were also announcing their debut album Faded Dream and the cover pretty much looks like a Type O album cover, I realized it was likely a deliberate choice. I mean, look at how the band and album names are on the corners. All that’s missing is for it to be green instead of blue and for the vocalist to have a significantly deeper tone.
But all that’s to say that the single, which you can listen to down below, is a definite must-listen. It’s honestly made me excited for the release of Faded Dream on November 1.
Faded Dream will be released via 20 Buck Spin. You can preorder your copy today.
Faded Dream track list
- Higher Calling
- Lost Silver
- It’s All Over (For You)
