Irish shoegaze legends My Bloody Valentine are stirring from their slumber, announcing a return to the stage in 2025. The band will perform a singular show at Dublin’s 3Arena on Saturday, November 22, 2025—a long hoped-for and anticipated return following their last live performance on October 14th, 2018, at the Desert Daze festival in California.
In 2021, the group partnered with Domino Publishing, granting streaming platforms access to their storied catalogue for the first time and reissuing their discography on vinyl. In the past, frontman Kevin Shields has hinted at new creations brewing in the band’s laboratory—two records in the works, one described as “warm and melodic,” the other venturing into experimental terrain.
“I don’t want to be 70-something wanting to make the next record after M B V,” Shields told the New York Times during a 2021 interview. “I think it’d be cooler to make one now.”
It remains to be seen whether this show announcement heralds the long-awaited follow-up to 2013’s *M B V*. Last year, fans caught a glimpse of Kevin Shields’ restless creativity when a USB filled with his latest solo experiments was stealthily incorporated into his guitar pedal collaboration with Fender. Recently, Shields teamed up with Dinosaur Jr. for a captivating cover of The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven” during a performance in London. Yet, aside from the show date, no further details have surfaced, leaving fans to speculate what will happen next.
Pre-sale access is also available from November 26th at 9 am when you sign up for the band’s newsletter.
