Ah, missile silos. Not only did you at one point threaten to rain nuclear death on people, but you also make for great music video locations — case and point: Mouth For War‘s new video/single “The Earth’s Cold Embrace.”
Released as a standalone offering, “The Earth’s Cold Embrace” is metalcore as fuck, with the Colorado-based band chugging along with meaty riffs and brutal vocals to get the blood pumping. Speaking about what the band calls their “heaviest work to date,” vocalist Trae Roberts explained that this song came from a fucked up dream he once had while on the road.
“The track is based on a dream I had on tour that really messed with my head for a few days. It was essentially a storyline where I killed someone in a private setting, then proceeded to be stalked by a crowd of people that knew what I had done until ultimately being forced to shoot myself. I tried to embody the mood of the dream in the instrumental of this track before even implementing lyrical content.
“We were lucky enough that our friend Dave hooked us up with this underground nuclear missile complex to shoot the video, which was incredibly fitting to the eerie vibe of the song. Hopefully you all love the new track as much as we do.”
In addition to the single, which you can check out below, the band’s got a handful of shows with Norma Jean and Teeth lined up for November. You can find the dates for those down below as well.
