So, good news/bad news. Morbid Angel‘s pulled out of the seventh annual ‘Devastation On The Nation’ U.S. Tour, presented by the Vox&Pops podcast. That’s the bad news. The good news, though, is that they’ll be replaced by pretty much almost exactly the same thing since I Am Morbid is replacing them. Which is funny because they have more former Morbid Angel members than the actual band Morbid Angel does.
The tour lineup shuffle was announced via social media earlier today, as organizers explained that “unforeseen circumstances” caused the change.
“Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Morbid Angel will no longer be joining us on this tour. Stepping up to take the headlining spot is none other than @iammorbidband! Fronted by David Vincent, the original Morbid Angel vocalist and bassist, the band includes Morbid Angel’s original and legendary drummer Pete Sandoval, and guitarists Bill Hudson (Doro, Northtale) and Richie Brown (Terrorizer, ex-Trivium).
“Get ready to be blown away as I Am Morbid delivers an unforgettable set, performing classic tracks from the Vincent & Sandoval era, including fan favorites from ‘Altars Of Madness’, ‘Blessed Are The Sick’, ‘Covenant’ and ‘Domination’.
“Don’t miss out on this epic tour—tickets are selling fast for all 25 shows, so grab yours now and prepare for a night of relentless metal madness!”
With the change at the top of the bill, the U.S. tour now features I Am Morbid as the headliner, with Suffocation, Uada, Mortiferum, Fulci, and Knoll serving as the tour’s openers.
The tour will run through 25 cities, with dates set to kick off on November 15 in Tampa, Florida and coming to a close on December 14 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. You can find the full list of dates and get your tickets below.
