Yesterday (November 16), rock royalty Jason Bonham said he won’t be returning to the stage with Sammy Hagar‘s band for any upcoming “The Best of All Worlds” shows.
Son of the goddamn legend and icon John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, Jason had been on the road as part of Sammy Hagar’s touring band for the U.S. leg of his “The Best of All Worlds” tour. A family emergency took him away, with Chickenfoot’s Kenny Aronoff subbing in. Bonham had posted on his Instagram about his project Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience (JBLZ)’s remaining shows for the year.
“Can’t wait to get back playing again . Got some new songs in the set which have only done once before in 2011 . Let’s #gettheledout @ledzeppelin @jamesdylanjblze @dorianheartsongjblze @mrjimmylzr #life #music #peace #moveon”
When a fan in the comments asked if he’d be a part of the “Best of All Worlds” tour again, he said, “Sammy has decided to carry on with Kenny [Aronoff] so sadly no.”
Bonham explained a little bit more about the situation earlier this month.
“I wanted to take a moment to explain my absence over the past few weeks. As many of you know, my mother has been facing some serious health issues, and it’s been an incredibly challenging time for our family. I’m grateful to share that she’s on the mend and has been discharged from the hospital! She’s now home and recovering, which brings me immense relief.
“It was truly difficult to step away from ‘The Best of All Worlds’ tour with only four shows left. The energy, the connections, and the experiences were nothing short of incredible, but my priority had to be with my mother during her fight for life.
“I’m excited to announce that JBLZE will be back on tour starting November 19th! I can’t wait to see all of you and share this journey together once more.
“Thank you for your understanding and love. See you soon!
“Much love, JB.”
The next JBLZE (Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening) show will be on Tuesday, November 19 at the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis, IN. For tickets and more info, visit Bonham’s website here.
