There’s no denying that Iron Maiden‘s Powerslave is one of the most iconic heavy metal classics. Hell, you probably already have a vinyl copy in your collection right this moment. But you definitely don’t have a vinyl version of that album that does what the newly announced limited-edition vinyl pressing does. And once you see what it does, you’ll want to pre-order yourself a copy.
Slated for release on November 15, this new release will mark the 40th anniversary of Powerslave with the band’s first-ever zoetrope picture disc. For those that don’t know what that means, it’s basically a flat flipbook that creates moving images on the disc as it spins. If you need to know what that looks like, there’s a clip below.
The album will feature the 2015 remastered version of Powerslave, along with an expanded original sleeve, new artwork, and exclusive anniversary liner notes written by the band’s founder and bassist, Steve Harris. If you get your copy at Walmart, it will include a lenticular 3D album art sized print, too.
If any of this seems like you’d want to at this to your collection, make sure to preorder your copy today, because once it’s gone, it’s gone.
