Retrograth – Crooked Fingers. (Exclusive charity release at Bandcamp)

Oct 31, the analogue wave artist Retrograth released the song Crooked Fingers at the US charity compilation – You are not alone, vol.1.

The compilation is released on Bandcamp by the webservice Darkness Calling and supports The Trevor project, a sucicide and crisis prevention service for young people. 100% of the donations are beeing donated to the Trevor project. On the compilation there are 20 artists of dark wave, indie, industrial, synth and gothic rock. Retrograth contributes with track 5 – Crooked Fingers.

The song is based on a true story that took place in the middle of Sweden in 1757. It revolves around two relatives of Retrograth that got accused of being witches. During the interrogation they got tortured by thumbscrews and got their fingers destroyed, all due to a young boy that spread out rumours about the local women in the parish. As usual, the main part of the sounds are created with analogue synths except from the sound of a knife and a sampled military drum.

You are not alone, vol.1.

Track 5 is Retrograth and Crooked Fingers (Only available at Bandcamp)
