Fictional Band Spinal Tap Ban Trump From Using Its Music

You know you must be a giant fuckhead when a band that doesn’t even exist has shunned you for being a piece of shit. That’s what Spinal Tap just did. Well, Harry Shearer did. The co-writer and co-star of the mockumentary film—he played the band’s bassist Derek Smalls—took to Twitter to let former President Donald dump-Trump know that he can’t use the band’s lovely “Sex Farm” at any of his rallies.
“Not a band to be outdone, Spinal Tap is demanding that the Trump campaign refrain from playing “Sex Farm” at their rallies,” Shearer’s straight-to-the-point post on Friday, September 6 read. What prompted him to issue such a warning? A joke, most likely.
First of all, it actually does kinda make sense why Trump would use a song like “Sex Farm” for his rallies, considering his gross and idiotic behavior towards women in the past. The song has lyrics like “Scratching in your henhouse/ Sniffing at your feedbag/ Slipping out your back door/ Leaving my spray,” which is basically just another way of saying “grab ’em by the pussy” if we’re being honest. There couldn’t be a better fitting anthem for his perverted ass.
Shearer admits he’s not sure if Trump actually attempted to use the song or not, but it’s better to jokingly get ahead of it regardless. It came as a response to a recent ruling that blocked Trump’s campaign from using the Issac Hayes track “Hold On, I’m Coming” during any of their events.
Spinal Tap is among good company, but that seems like it should be obvious. Foo Fighters, Beyoncé, Celine Dion, ABBA, and Sinéad O’Connor’s estate have also openly forbid Trump from using their music
In addition, artists including Celine Dion, ABBA, Beyoncé, and the Foo Fighters, along with Sinéad O’Connor’s estate, have also objected to Trump’s use of their songs at his rallies.
A fan cheekily commented on Shearer’s Twitter post asking if the fictional band’s single “Big Bottom” was “still up for grabs,” to which he responded with wit, “He thinks so.”
