Body Count to Perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Body Count, Ice-T’s longrunning metal band that ironically hates cops (hating cops isn’t ironic in itself because they fuckin suck, but moreso because T has been acting as a cop on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit for 1000 years now and knowingly hates the LAPD as much as everyone else does), is set to play live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this coming week on Wednesday, December 4. The band just released their 8th album Merciless on November 22, so their set will definitely include some of their new material.
The performance comes just one week after Knocked Loose and Poppy made heavy and apparently offensive history by performing a five song set on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Regular watchers and fans of the show immediately demanded an apology from Kimmel for booking the band, basically claiming how inappropriate it was considering the age of some of the viewers of the show, and how just over the top the music is thought to be. One Karen had this to say of the performance: “You know I was trying to enjoy the program. I was sitting on the couch with my son who is an ADOLESCENT waiting to see the musical guest because we like the nice music the show usually books. By the third or fourth ‘JUNT’ from the guitars my son was in tears. He doesn’t like scary things and quite frankly I think the Kimmel show and its staff should make a formal apology.” Come on, girl. It is not that serious.
Honestly, I fucking hope someone complains about Body Count of Fallon in this same fashion. It’s funny to think that people believe there are no viewers of shows that are fans of this kind of music, and therefore should be excluded from ever seeing it represented on late night television like this. Like wow, people. Get the fuck over it. Metalheads enjoy some good late night fodder just like the rest of y’all.
