Let’s be honest—the holidays fucking suck. What even is the point? Being around family sucks. But, at least, August Burns Red has blessed us with a little holiday treat, by way of their quite hefty cover of “Waltz of the Flowers” from The Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. They do these covers every year, so that gives us something actually worthy of looking forward to in some sense.
The band had this to say about their tradition:
“In keeping with our annual tradition, we are excited to reveal this year’s August Burns Red holiday song. We tackled the classical ballet ‘Waltz of the Flowers,’ taken from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. It was so much fun adding our spin to the timeless melodies written by this legendary composer. Hope you like it and Happy Holidays!”
Constellations, the band’s third album, is coming up on its 15th anniversary, and they’ll be celebrating that by playing two nights of their August Burns Red’s Christmas Burns Red 2024 festival on December 13 and December 14 at Freedom Hall at the Lancaster Convention Center in Lancaster, PA. Each night will have a different set though, just in case you were wondering. Each night is pretty stacked when it comes to the bills, too. Check out the flyer below, and get tickets to see them here.
